One Future of Learning

One Future of Learning
Urban streetscape people strolling and sitting at outdoor cafes with a trolley car running down the center grass lawn.

In my work with StoryCenter I was marginally involved in Arizona State University's 100 Year EdTech Project which gathered a group of educators, instructional designers, technologists and independent researchers to "imagine the next 50 years of education." The first Design Summit was held in February 2024 at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center in Scottsdale, Arizone. The March 2025 Summit will be at the University of Texas at San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas.

"The 100 Year EdTech Project was founded by ASU’s Enterprise Technology, SAB Creative & Consulting, and StoryCenter to help the field of education prepare for the next 50 years."

Based on his 'Postcards from the Future' contribution to the 100 Year Edtech Project, StoryCenter.org founder Joe Lambert created a "Voices of the Future Present" six week online StoryCenter workshop featuring "a mix of AI image, video and audio generating tools and Wevideo editing software" that was first offered in July/Aug 2024.

I am a facilitator with StoryCenter and support Joe in his Stories-in-Motion (storymapping), and now, Voices of the Future Present workshops. Sometimes I even finish a digital story in the workshop! Based on my interest in digital tools and work with adults, students, staff, and faculty in higher education, I created this digital story using Claude.ai for writing support and Midjourney.com to generate some of the images.

I imagined one possible scenario for adult learners a decade from now. My story is also available on Vimeo. Please engage with my imagined future and leave a comment.
