Jim Groom challenged his Reclaim Hosting team to keep up with his blogging in Reclaim Hosting's Reclaim Rewind 2024. I'm one of "the people in the community" Maren mentions who is following those baby steps across the different platforms. In addition to my new Ghost site, I have Castopod and Pixelfed set up, am learning to use federated social media platforms Mastodon, Bluesky, and Threads, and my video remix is hosted on my Peertube channel in the Reclaim Cloud. Afterwards I asked Maren, who lives in Wales, if she understood Jim's hand gestures. She said "no" she didn't, and I explained it was a reference to gunfighters in American western movies and television. I wonder how many of the young people on the stream understood the gesture: it's been decades since Gunsmoke was on broadcast television.

My great-grandfather instigated a famous gun battle in the New Mexico Territories, but that's another story.
